PROGRESSING AS A LEARNER.
What new learning have you done this semester? Relate this to specific items in your portfolio?
Throughout this semester, I have learned a lot about different sentence structures and when to use them. I think that throughout this semester, I have also learned a lot about myself through writing. This semester we got to work on writing pieces that were argumentative, informative and more personal. I think while the second half of the semester was coming to an end, I learned that I enjoy and I am also better at writing pieces that are personal. I feel like writing with voice is one of my strengths, rather than writing to inform and argue. For example, writing the Coming of Age and College Prompt essays were a lot easier for me than the Risky Business and Angry Letter assignment because when Iʻm writing the first to, I can relate to it, and for me it helps to strengthen my essays. Reflecting back on this whole semester and knowing what Iʻm good at and not so good at, I now have the ability to work on the things that I need to.
How have you followed up on your learning goals that you set for yourself?
My big and general goal was to mainly keep a positive mindset even though work might be stressful and time consuming. I feel as if just practicing helped me to improve the way I handle school work. I have also followed up on this goal by trying not to overload myself so much at one time. I feel like it has been working well, but I am still also working towards this goal.
